Extracts
of will made 18 February 1758
I
Charles Hill of Calfholes within Hundersfield, yeoman, being old,
make this my last will.
I
devise unto Charles Hill, my nephew (son of my brother Richard),
my messuage and tenement with one other messuage or cottage, both
within Hundersfield called Redyshore, with lands, be the same freehold
or leasehold charged with a payment of £8 a year unto Sarah,
my wife, during her life.
I
also devise unto him the said Charles Hill, my nephew, my cottages
situate in Hundersfield where I now dwell, called Calfholes, be
the same freehold or leasehold charged with the payment of 20/-
a year unto the said Sarah my wife during her lifetime, and chargeable
also with a further payment of 20/- a year unto the said Richard
my brother during his life.
And
as touching my personal estate, I give unto my three nieces, daughters
of my brother Adam, deceased, £1-1s-0d
To
all my nephews and nieces, sons and daughters of my sister Betty,
deceased, (excepting her daughter Mary) each £1-1s-0d
To
all my nephews and nieces, sons and daughters of my sister Ellen,
deceased, each £1-1s-0d
And
to all my nephews and nieces, son and daughters of my sister Mary,
each £1-1s-0d
The
residue of my personal estate I give unto the said Charles Hill,
my nephew.
