I John Stansfield late of Dean in Hundersfield in the County of
Lancaster but now of Pastureside in Hundersfield aforesaid, Yeoman,
being old and infirm of body but of sound and disposing mind and
understanding, praised be Almighty God for the same, do make, publish
and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following,
that is to say,
First
it is my will and mind and I do hereby order and direct that all
my just debts, funeral expenses, charges of this my will in probate
and all other my executors' necessary and incidental charges and
expenses in and about the execution here be first of all paid and
discharged out and forth of any real and personal estate.
Then
I do give and bequeath unto Ann, my second daughter, widow and relict
of Charles Voile late of Blackstone Edge in Hundersfield aforesaid,
Yeoman deceased, the sum of one shilling of lawful British money
to be paid unto her within twelve months next after my decease.
And
I do also give and bequeath unto Susan my daughter, widow and relict
of John Stansfield late of Long Clough in Hundersfield aforesaid,
Yeoman deceased, the sum of £5 of like lawful money.
And
to Mary my daughter, now wife of John Haigh of Pastureside aforesaid
I give the like sum of £5.
I
do also give, devise and bequeath unto them, the said Susan and
Mary my said daughters, and James Stansfield otherwise (Lassey??)
my grandson by her the said Ann my daughter all that my said messuage
and tenement called Dean situate in Hundersfield aforesaid, now
in the occupation or possession of him the said James Stansfield
otherwise (Lassey) his assignees or undertenants, with all the barns,
buildings, land, closes, grounds, hereditaments and appurtenances
whatsoever to the same belonging or appertaining, together with
the reversion and remainder of my personal estate (if any there
be) TO HOLD unto them the said Susan and Mary my said daughters
and the said James Stansfield otherwise (Lassey) my grandson, and
to their several and respective heirs and assignees forever as tenants
in common but not as joint tenants, charged and chargeable nevertheless
with the payment of all my just debts, funeral and other expenses
as aforesaid, together with the legacies therein and hereby given
and bequeathed by me as aforesaid.
And
I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint them the said Susan
and Mary my said daughters, and him the said James Stansfield otherwise
(Lassey) my grandson, joint executors of this my will hereby revoking
all former and all other will and wills by me heretofore made. In
witness whereof I the said John Stansfield have hereto set my hand
and seal the seventeenth day of May in the Year of our Lord One
Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty.
