Of Greenhursthey within Stansfield pa Halifax widow ‘being old and crazey in body’.

Whereas by virtue on one bond bearing date 28th October 1784 made by my late husband Joshua Helliwell to Mr Robert Thomas then of Mosshall but now of Blackshawroyd in Stansfield in trust for my sole use and benefit as therein expressed; and whereas I am entitled to a legacy of £50 given to me by my late husband in his will and not yet paid – both of these said sums and all other my personal estate I dispose of as follows:

To my niece Mary Wilde £25To my niece Grace Greenwood wife of John £15 and to her daughter Betty Whitehead £15.To my niece Sarah Crowther £10 and to her two natural children born out of wedlock, to whit Richard and Betty Horsfall £10 each.

To my niece Martha Webster £27.

All to be paid at the end of 6 months after my decease.

To Betty Bentley, my nephew John Horsfall’s daughter my chest of drawers standing in my house body; and to her sister Grace Horsfall my pewter case and all pewter therein; and to their sister Mary Horsfall my spice cupboard; and to their sister Anna or Hannah my desk standing upon my chest of drawers.To Luke Horsfall son of my nephew Richard my chest.

To Richard Horsfall son of my nephew John Horsfall my clothes press.

My wearing apparel equally between Mary wife of my nephew John Horsfall and her daughters Grace, Mary and Anna or Hannah.

Residue to my two nephews John Horsfall of Greenhurshey and his brother Richard.

Joint executors – my trusty and well beloved friends Mr John Sutcliffe of Stansfield Hall in Stansfield gent; and John Hellewell of Greenhursthey elder son of Michael Hellewell of the same yeoman
