JOHN GREENWOOD (1883-1962)

He worked as a fish salesman, ice cream manufacturer/merchant, cook etc. He lived in Portsmouth & Cornholme but sold ice cream in other areas of Todmorden under the name of Johnny Gay. This name was because he was brought up by his maternal Tregay grandparents after his mother's death aged 4.
