This
is the Last Will and Testament of me Thomas Lord of 7 New Strawberry
Road, Pendleton near Manchester in the County of Lancaster, Accountant.
I
give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Lord the following articles
and goods, that is to say the bedstead and bed bolster pillows and
bedding used by her in the front bedroom of the house no. 7 New
Strawberry Road aforesaid. The mahogany dressing table and washstand
and the chest of mahogany drawers with bowed front in the same room,
also the chamber service and four cane bottomed hardwood chairs
together with four of the mahogany hair seated chairs also in the
same room. Also the pictures in the said room, and a carpet and
hearthrug to be selected by my executors. I also give and bequeath
to my said daughter the pianoforte and music stool, dining table
and couch, pier glass and lustres, armchair, rocking chair, mantle
time-piece in the sitting room of the said house no. 7 New Strawberry
Road aforesaid, and also one dozen flowered china cups and saucers
gilt rimmed my large painted box and the two gilt framed engravings
entitled "going with the stream" and "going against the stream".
I also give to my said daughter such books as my executors shall
select and thirty pounds in money free of legacy duty.
I
give and bequeath to my dear wife Mary Ann Lord the rest, residue
and remainder of my personal estate of whatever nature, kind and
description and wheresoever absolutely for her own use and benefit.
I
appoint my said wife and my son James Walton Lord Executrix and
Executor of this my Will and hereby revoke all other Wills, Codicils
and testamentary dispositions by me at any time heretofore made.

Witness whereof I have hereunder set my hand this thirtieth day
of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty four.

This
is a Codicil to the Last Will and Testament of me Thomas Lord of
7, New Strawberry Road Pendleton near Manchester, Accountant. I
hereby nominate and appoint Samuel Ward Walton Lord as an Executor
of this my Will in addition to my wife and James Walton Lord hereinbefore
appointed under my Last Will and Testament dated the thirtieth day
of August one thousand eight hundred and eighty four, And I also
confirm the said Will in all other respects.
In
Witness whereof I have hereunder set my hand this fourth day of
September one thousand eight hundred and eighty four.
