1891 Census for Towcester

 

A  All that part of the Parish of Towcester which lies on the North East side of the West Chester Turnpike Road commencing at Spital Bridge and from thence down the Church Lane including the Church Yard, the Brickyard House, Savages Farm Lodge, the two cottages on the Tiffield Road, the Hamlet of Caldicote, Elm Lodge & Cottages  on the South-west side of the said Turnpike, the Cottages on the Greens Norton Road, the Railway Station & the Hesketh Arms Hotel.

 

       (includes the east side of the Market Square, and the whole of that side of the High Street to the north (crossroads pictured), plus Moat Lane)

 

 

 

 

B   All that part of the parish of Towcester which lies on the North East side of the West Chester Turnpike Road from and including Newen’s House taking a straight line East to the brook, to Betsy’s Lane, two Houses at Heathencote, occupied by William Dickens and John Pell. Park View, the Red House, the Folly, Mount Pleasant, Jubilee Row, Lake Lane, woodbine Cottages, Old Brickyard, Highams Cottage and the Hamlet of Wood Burcot, with Banks Farm House

C   All that part of the parish of Towcester which lies on the South West side of the West Chester Turnpike Road from Little London to Corrals House at the Corner of Sawpit Lane both Inclusive, with Puddle Dock and the Plank Houses

(includes all the yards behind the West side of the south end of the High Street, as well as the west side of the High Street and the Alms Houses, pictured)

 

 

 

D   All that part of the parish of Towcester which lies on the South West side of the West Chester Turnpike Road from Smiths house to the corner of Sawpit Lane up High Street & Park Street to the Workhouse Comprising part of High Street, part of the South east side of Park Street, the whole of the Sawpit Lane together with the new cottages lately belonging to the East of Pomfret also Queens Terrace, Albert Row & Back Lane (Ridgways Cottage) & Wickham Terrace

 

 

       (includes the West side of the Market Square, the Talbot Inn, pictured, and the Workhouse)

 

 

 

 

E   All that part of the parish of Towcester from the Workhouse comprising the remaining part of the South east side of Park Street, Ridgways Cottages on the North-West side of the Turnpike Road, the whole of Kings Lane, the whole of the North West side of Park Street, the remaining part of High Street from Bulford’s corner to and including Tranters Row and Police Station, also the Handleys, Kingsmoor, Costwell, and Franklin’s Farm House and Cottages.
