Notes
The
first entries in the book appear to be from 1755, but the book was not
purchased until 1781. These initial entries are not stamped as the later ones
are, and as they contain the births of William Amphlett's children in other
areas of the country, I think must be suspected of being entered much later,
and are probably incomplete.
The
Commissioners statement included with the register on the microfilm, as filled
in by John Barker the pastor, states that the church was started in 1715. John
Barker was not aware of any previous register to the one submitted to the
Commissioners.
