The names of Samuel Savage & Cordelia Ridgeway are omitted from the above list. It is probably a tolerably correct list of those who have been identified with this Christian Church from its formation up to the commencement of my Ministry.

A remarkable omission is seen in the fact that no mention is made of the commencement or close of the Pastorate of Thomas Evans. He and his wife appear in the list of members for 1878.

His Ministry commenced Aug 1873.

The name of Mrs Elizabeth Owen does not appear. She was baptised by Pastor Thomas Evans.                         She died October 14th 1882 aged 56 years.

This Church Book came into my possession Dec 20th 1886. Alfred Pickles, Pastor.

It had been up to this time in the possession of Samuel Cooper Tite. He having left our fellowship & rejoined the Baptist Church Towcester, I obtained it from him. On the next pages is the list of members at the above date.

My first preaching engagement here was fulfilled by Lord's Days March 14th & 21st, 1880. A further engagement for three months, commenced May 16th 1880: and my stated Ministry on July 18th of the same year.

Members of the Church present Messrs C Clarke, Wood, Wilcox, Garlick & Adams.

Mrs Eales Millar, Miss Gibbons

The meeting was opened by singing.

Prayer was offered by Mr Garlick & Mr Wood.

Rom 12 was read by Mr Tyars.

The various members expressed their opinions, the meeting throughout being fraternal & pleasant.

There appeared no disposition to unite with the South End Church. Still the prospects of continuing as at present were doubtful. Mr Garlick was specially anxious that they should try to revive the work by prayer & united effort

Mr Clark said his daughter Mrs Millar would be no longer with them being now at Northampton, that the small school of 11 would be reduced, that the singing would fall off in  her absence, & that there was no good in continuing long, still he wished to try two or three months.

Ultimately each member, on being asked whether they desired to go as now responded in the affirmative & the meeting closed with the understanding that when they had any desire for a further conference they should hold a church meeting & send the resolution to Mr Tyars.

The meeting was closed with singing & prayer.

The above was copied from minutes taken by Mr Tyars & signed by him

Mr Fidler Pastor presiding

Meeting opened with prayer.

Present

Mr Clark, Mr Wood, Mr Adams

Mr Garlick

A conversation took place on the present condition of the cause whether it was possible or desirable to keep on.

Mr Adams & Mr Garlick thought they might continue to hold sessions in the vestry as this would decrease the expense, Mr Clark & Mr Wood were opposed to this course & thought it would be best to send for Mr Tyars at once to take his opinion as to what was the best course to pursue. Ultimately it was agreed to adjourn the meeting to Jan 7 after the Lords Supper so that more members might be present.
