The names of Samuel Savage & Cordelia Ridgeway are omitted from the above list. It is
probably a tolerably correct list of those who have been identified with this
Christian Church from its formation up to the commencement of my Ministry.
A remarkable omission is seen in the fact
that no mention is made of the commencement or close of the Pastorate of Thomas
Evans. He and his wife appear in the list of members for 1878.
His Ministry commenced Aug 1873.
The name of Mrs Elizabeth Owen does not appear.
She was baptised by Pastor Thomas Evans. She died October 14th
1882 aged 56 years.
This
Church Book came into my possession Dec 20th 1886. Alfred Pickles, Pastor.
It had been up to this time in the
possession of Samuel Cooper Tite. He having left our
fellowship & rejoined the Baptist Church Towcester, I obtained it from him.
On the next pages is the list of members at the above date.
My first preaching engagement here was
fulfilled by Lord's Days March 14th & 21st, 1880. A further engagement for
three months, commenced May 16th 1880: and my stated Ministry on July 18th of
the same year.

A conversation took place on the present
condition of the cause whether it was possible or desirable to keep on.

thought they might continue to hold sessions in the vestry as this would
decrease the expense, Mr Clark & Mr Wood were
opposed to this course & thought it would be best to send for Mr Tyars at once to take his opinion as to what was the best
course to pursue. Ultimately it was agreed to adjourn the meeting to Jan 7
