Apr 12 - Rome - Willis D. Ingalls, proprietor of Whites Hotel in this city, died suddenly of heart disease at his Lee Center home this afternoon. He had not been feeling well for several days and went to Lee Center for a few days rest. About 2 am he called Dr. T. H. Cox of that village and Mr. Ingalls was able to be about during the forenoon and he laid down in the afternoon and expired. Mr. Ingalls was born in Madison County 64 yars ago. The greater part of his life having been spent in Lee Center where he conducted a general store. Twenty-five years ago on December 14, at that place he married Miss Ida J. Schermerhorn and they came here about eight years ago and took possession of Whites Hotel, which he since conducted. He was a member of Baron Steuben Lodge, F & AM, of Lee Center, and of the Loyal Order of Moose of this city. Besides his wife he is survived by the following children: Mrs. Daniel Wicks of Harrisville, Miss Arlinda and Emerson Ingalls of Vernon, Seymour of Fulton and Frank Ingalls of Oneida, Mrs. William Stook Sr of Vernon and Mrs. William Stook Jr of Kirkland, and Mrs. Casper Terwilliger of Coatesville, Pa.
