Vernon - Mrs. Adney Jacobs, 82, esteemed woman of this community, died this morning at Maple Park Home, Vernon Center, where she had lived since the death of her husband on December 16, 1931.

Mrs. Jacobs was a daughter of a real son of the American Revolution, and was the wife of the late Adney Jacobs, who was a deputy sheriff of Oneida County for nearly 40 years, was a member of the Vernon Agricultural Society for over 50 years, and was at one time president of the village of Vernon.

Eliza Olcott was born at Point Rock July 3, 1852, a daughter of the late Edward and Esther Brower Olcott. She was one of ten children. She was educated in Rome and on May 22, 1872 she was married to Mr. Jacobs, the ceremony being performed by the Rev. Robert Flint, pastor of the Lee Center Methodist Church. She was a member of the Methodist Church of this village.

Surviving is a son, Clarence A. Jacobs of Sherrill, two grand-daughters, Mrs. Calvin Bowne and Mrs. Stanton Bushnell, both of Sherrill, and one sister, Mrs. Zilpha Wilson of Rome.

Jacocks, John Fletcher

John Fletcher Jacocks died yesterday forenoon after an ilness of 2 years and a hlaf from consumption. He had been employed for 9 years as a pot maker at the glass works and preious to that 4 years in treading clay and while thus engaged in an occupation supposed to be deterimental to health, the dread disease consumption developed and hastened by an attack fo the grip 2 years ago, he gradually broke down. Deceased came here from Lee, Oneida County, 15 years ago with his family of wife and 3 children, the 3 first born having died at his former home. He had been a local preacher before coming to Cleveland and performed that service to some extent here. He as a consistent member of the Methodist Church, a man of usefulness and integrity, a thoroughly good citizen and his death is much regretted.

Jenkins, Everett J.

Everett J. Jenkins, 58, Rome grocer, died at 2:48 am today at his home at 804 Floyd Ave. Mr. Jenkins had conducted a grocery store on Floyd Ave 22 yrs and had been active until March 1 of this year when ill health forced him to cease participation in his business. Mr. Jenkins was born in the town of Western on August 3, 1875, the son of the late John and Esther Countryman Jenkins. He had lived here 32 years and prior to that resided at Delta. For eight years prior to engaging in the grocery business he was superintendent of the Union Can Company. On October 15, 1902 he married Rhuama Greenwood, the ceremony being performed by the Rev. Dr. Peabody in the Baptist Church here. She survives with a sister, Mrs. J. M. Currie, a niece, Miss A. Nadine Currie, and a nephew Donald Currie. Mr. Jenkins attended the First Presbyterian Church.

Jenny, Emma Streun

Mrs. Emma Streun Jenny died at her home, 425 W. Court St., at 3:45 am today following a year's illness. She was born in Lee Center February 7, 1860, daughter of John & Rosina Streun. Fifty-six years ago at West Leyden she was married to Rudolph Jenny who died February 22, 1933. Mrs. Jenny, a member of Trinity Church, had lived here several years. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Gottlieb Regetz, Utica, three sons, Ray and John, Rome, and Winfield, Knoxboro, and two sisters, Mrs. E. A. Sawyer, Rome, and Mrs. James Willson, Lee Center. There are also five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews

Johncox, Henry

Lee - Henry Johncox died this morning at the home of Edward Clemons, aged 84 yrs. He had lived in this vicinity many years and was much respected. The funeral will occur Friday at 1 pm at the house.

Johnson, Marion Seeley

Rome, Dec. 5 - Mrs. Newton Johnson died Wednesday morning at her home, 410 Turin street, of paralysis. She was stricken eight days before her whole system becoming affected, and she was unconscious during that time. Her maiden name was Marion Seeley, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Seeley. She was born at Lee Corners 52 years ago, but practically al her life had been spent in this city. She was twice married. Her first husband was Arvillo DeGarmo. Ten years ago she married Mr. Seely, who survives, with one daughter by the first husband, Miss Beatrice DeGarmo, of this city. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the First M. E. Church and also of the women’s societies of that church. She was kind and charitable and had a great many friends who deeply regretted to learn of her death. She also leaves one brother and one sister, Mrs. John Shott of Camden and Bert Seely of Chicago.

Johnson, Mary Capron

Lee Center - Mrs. Mary E. Johnson, wife of Squire Johnson, died on Thursday evening at the family residence one and one-half miles west of Lee Center on the Taberg road, aged 48 years and 10 months. Mrs. Johnson had been ill for several months. She was a consistent member of the M. E. Church at Lee Center. She leaves a husband and one son, Herbert. Also her mother, Mrs. Cornelia A. Capron, and one brother, Platt E. Capron of Turin.

Jones, Elizabeth Studer

Lee Center - Mrs. Edward O. Jones passed away Monday in the Rome Hospital where she had been receiving treatment since Tuesday. She had been in failing health for several months.

Elizabeth Studer was born in Switzerland January 6, 1867, daughter of the late John and Martha Studer. She came to this country when she was four months old and had lived in the town of Western and in Stokes until seven years ago when the family moved to this place. December 16, 1893, she was married to Edward O. Jones at Beaches Bridge, Lewis county. She was a member of the Lee Center M. E. Church.

Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Lloyd O. Jones, Western, and Everett S. Jones, Stokes, also one brother, John Studer and eight grandchildren.

Jones, Mary E. Wolfe

Sherrill, Oct. 29 (1930) - Mary Elizabeth Wolfe Jones, 71, well known resident, passed away in Sherrill Hospital at 4 o’clock this morning. She had been ill for the past year and her death was due to complications. She was born in Delta Jan. 1, 1859, daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Robert Worthington Fuller.

The greater part of her life was spent in Delta. She was twice married. Her first husband, Charles Wolfe, whom she married in 1878 at Delta, passed away in 1904. In 1912 she married Sheridan Jones of Rome who died in 1928. Four children were born to the first marriage. Her only son, Elmer C. Wolfe, postmaster at Sherrill for six years, died April 1, 1928.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Louis Bowers of Rome, Mrs. Monroe Fox of Camden, and Mrs. George C. Halstead of Sherrill. She also leaves a grandson Donald Elmer Halstead of Sherrill, one sister, Mrs. Louis Button of Westernville and one brother, Robert Fuller of Mt. Morris.
