On-the-job Photos
Adams, NY 1940
My uncle identified these photos as having been taken on one of my grandfather's jobs in Adams, NY in 1940. They appear to involve the construction of an underpass. I tried to put these in some sort of chronological order, but I'm just guessing as I have no idea what order they are supposed to go in.
- Two photos of a steam crane with a clamshell attachment with what looks like piles of gravel.
- A steam shovel and a bulldozer digging through a street. I had to rotate this photo a bit lest the equipment slide off the edge of the Earth. ;-)
- A bulldozer that has fallen into a ditch. In the right background, there appears to be a freight railroad station with a Pennsylvania Railroad boxcar in front of it. This one also had to be rotated slightly to get it level.
- An old truck and a steamshovel digging out a road. It looks as though there may be snow on the ground and the truck, but it's hard to be certain.
- A steam crane in the underpass.
