Built 1929 by R. Duncan & Co, Port Glasgow.

1940 31 August :Bombed and seriously damaged in the Cammell Laird shipyard at Liverpool; then repaired.

1942  21st March : Torpedoed and damaged by U-202, position 38.46N 55.44W, on voyage Liverpool to Port Everglades, in ballast.

Later, towed 750 miles by tug (Rescue Tug Service) to St. John's Newfoundland and repaired.

Renamed EMPIRE VISCOUNT for MOWT (Athel Line, managers).

1946 reverted to ATHELVISCOUNT for Tankers Ltd, Liverpool (Athel Line Ltd).

1957 scrapped at Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, Holland.

Yard Nr. 1261; 17th November 1960 Launched

June 1961 Delivered to Athel Line Ltd

1965 Chartered and given over to a New Zealand crew at Durban.

Arrived Wellington 29th August 1965.         New Zealand Service.

1967 Remeasured to 12,592 grt; 20,168 dwt

1969 Transferred to to Tankers Ltd. (manager Athel Line Ltd)

24th June 1978 Sailed from Marsden Point.

Arrived Hong Kong 12th July 1978.

Handed over to Shun Fung Ironworks Ltd. 22nd July 1978

Demolition 5th November 1978.
