INTRODUCTION & INDEX
KIDNAPPING OF SCHENECTADY CHILD
Victim Brought to North Country
May 1923
The details of a kidnapping in Schenectady, N. Y. on April 30, 1923, provide for interesting reading for those of us who probe events having a link to Jefferson County, N. Y.
Again, my rambling through old Watertown newspapers attracted my attent ion to a name associated with my Hasner family -- Beebe, which was the married name of my Grandfather Hasner's Aunt Pamelia. I soon learned, not from family lore, but by interfacing my Hasner genealogy with the names in numerous articles on the topic of this kidnapping, that my Grandpa's cousin was married to the kidnapper involved. That fact alone is the only reason I became involved in posting this on my website -- not because I think the very large Beebee (also Beebe) family would relish reading this. I hope they will look within the articles for the good things said about the Beebee family and be as thankful as I am for learning more about a part of their family.
