The TWIN TIERS encompasses the southern tier of NY State and the northern tier of the State of PA. therefore the articles and news presented on this site will be from no particular or singled out area or county.However since starting this site I have found information about other areas in NY state. It is very old information so I am including it on this site instead of just passing it by.
Objects presented will be gleamed through journals, files, newspaper clippings, records open to the public, personal collections and reliable personal recollections of the past.
The origin of the above listed sources will be obtained from township files,out of print books, counties files, city files, libraries,previously unknown personal records that are being shared with me.
As these files continue to be uncovered and are provided to me, I will place them out on the site for others to view, and hopefully they can obtain their missing piece sought after for years.

EVAS JOURNAL
Eva was a resident of the Catlin, Chemung county area all her life.
Her father kept a journal prior to her taking up the reigns. Her journal consisted of the funerals in the area that she attended and heard about. With the ones she attended she went into explicit detail, down the the color of the flowers, how she and friends entered the homes where the funeral was being held. The weather at the time, and the method of the arrival of mourners,etc. This woman left a great heritage for future generations. Those of us who were fortunate enough to have had contact with her while she was alive, were very fortunate.
