Be it known that on this 22nd day o f June 1853 personally in open court before me John G Wilkin a Judge of the county court of this county of Orange. Catherine Dailey aged 55 years a resident of said county who first being by me duly sworn according to law on her oath says the following declaration and said that she is one of the children of Ezekiel CROUS later of the town of Waukill, Orange County [deceased] and that her father Ezekiel CROUS died at his residence in Orange County on the 6th day of October 1824 and at the time of his death he left surviving him his widow Mary CROUS. Declared brother states that she has understood from her father and her mother and from other persons that her father Ezekiel Crouse had served in the revolution army was as follows. Viz: From about the 8th March, 1776 until sometimes in the fall of the same year in the Company commanded by Captain Jacob Rosa and a part of 1777 under the same Captain and that he was under Lieutenant Robertson in 1778 and that he was out under Captain Jacob Rosa and Captain William Cros in the year 1779 to guard the habitants from the Indians on the western frontier of Ulster County and that he was also out under Captain William Falkner at different times and under other officers whose names she cannot now recollect and that he served when required in until the commencement until the close of the war all of which she believes to the time discharged further sais that her father and mother were married at Waukill in Orange County in the fall of 1775 as she has been informed and believes an Mr. Carrok? A minister of the gospel who their preached in said community and that her mothers name before marriage was Mary Puff and that the annexed? Affidavice of Jams Miller was taken to prior the massage of her said father and mother is within lifetime of her mother she also sais that this has been diligent search made for marriage record but none can be found. Declared further said that her mother died at her residents in the town of Waukill in said county of orange on 31st day May 1838 and that she had married but died the widow of Ezekiel and that she left surviving of the following married children, William P CROUS, Mary Dorn and Catherine Daily this claimant and that on the only surviving children of Mary CROUS, she further said she makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the pension she claims was due her said mother the said Mary CROUS at the time of her death under the act of July 4, 1836. James Dailey of Waukill Orange County being by me duly sworn according by the law and that in was well acquainted with Ezekiel Crouse late of the town of Waukill and May his wife and that the said Ezekiel CROUS and Mary CROUS lived together as man and wife until the death of the said Ezekiel and that they were reputed about the neighborhood where they lived to be man and wife that the said Ezekiel CROUS died at his residence in said Count of orange on the 6th day of October 1834 and that he left surviving him Mary CROUS his widow and that the said Mary CROUS died at Orange County on the 1st day of May 1838 and that she left surviving her the following named children William P CROUS Mary Dorso and Catherine Daily this declared and that they were the only surviving children of the said Mary CROUS. He further sais that he has no interest in this application or pension..X his mark James Daily.

Subscribed and sworn before me this 2nd day of July 1853 and I certify I have no interest in this event of this application.

Sullivan County. Be it declared that on the 2nd day of October A D 1837 before one Samuel Smith one of the judges of the court of common please in said county of Sullivan and State of New York came James Miller of Crawford County of Orange in said state of being duly sworn depeth and saith that he is seventy eight years old and part that in the policy in the year of 1775 or in the year 1776 he was present at the marriage of John Ezekiel Crans with Mary puff both there well known to this claimant. That said marriage was solemnized in the name town of Wilkill County as Orange and State aforesaid and as claimant believes and avowing to the best of his recollection by one Michael Corren a minister of the gospel then preaching at the town of Montgomery. That he recollects on John Newkirk was present also at said married and at the same ceremony that he knows and is positive that said marriage took place in the year of 1776. That said Ezekiel Crons to his said wife continued to live together in that part of Ulster County. That that has been for many years past set off to and included in Orange county. That it may be that one VanNes married said

Crans but is of the opinion that said Carrey married him.

The above entry is recorded in the beginning from the original record of Baptism and from the name it appears that Leonherd child and Magdalena Krouse and Leonhard Krouse was baptizes according to the rites of said church by the Rev. Johann Heinrick and applies then the pastor of the above named church on the 19th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety.

On the 4th day of March 1845 personally appeared Ellen Jones Snell above named and who has recognized the above certificate to me well knows to be the officiating Elder of said church in the said Jonas Snell made on the state the factos are both in said certificate are true and correct.
