LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF DANIEL CRAWFORD In the name of God amen. I Daniel Crawford who of the town of Caton in the county of Steuben and the State of NY being of sound mind and memory do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner following there as today. that after all my legal debts are paid. First- I give and bequeath to my son Winfield Scott Crawford one thousand dollar and as a special legacy. Second- I give and devise to my daughter Florence Isadore Crawford the sum of three hundred dollars as a special legacy. Third- I give and devise to my son Chancey Austwendson? Crawford the sum of three hundred dollars as a special legacy. Fourth- I give and devise all the rest and remainder of my real and personal estate of every name and nature whatsoever, to be equally divided between my eight children respectively wit namely Andrew Jackson Crawford and eighth part to Henry Clay Crawford and eighth part Chancey Richardson Crawford and one eighth part Winfield Scott Crawford, one eighth part Shelomits Hamlin one eighth part Margaret Quackenbush, one eighth part Mary Catharine McCullock one eighth part Ann Florence, Isadore Crawford, one sixth part. I Albert Brush of the town of Pultney County of Steuben State of NY, at the age of 73 yr., being of sound mind and memory and in view of this fleeting and transitory life, do hereby make public and declare this my last will and testament in manner and from as follows; that is to say: 1st. To my son Harmon M Brush I give and bequeath the piece or parcel of land known as the Sheridan lot, and deeded to Albert Brush by Lana M. Brush by special Guardian and Elen D Horton, there being 21 and 70/100 acres. 2nd. To my son Horton L. Brush I give and bequeath 25 acres, including the 5 acres deed to said Horton L. Brush by albert Brush and his wife Lydia Brush all of the said 25 acres being on the east side of said farm deeded to albert Brush by Richard F Horton and wife Philena and described in said deed, and said 25 acres to run from South line to North line and west of ar enough to make the said 25 acres. The said Horton L Brush having possession of the full 25 acres at the death at said Albert Brush and that Lydia Brush have one third of the proceed of the 17 acres being the amount added to the 8 already deeded to Horton L Brush to make the said amount of 25 acres, 3rd. To my son Marion S Brush I give and bequeath the balance of the old homestead known as that of Albert Brush, in including the 20 acres deeded to Albert Brush by William Horton Jr., and his wife Hannah on the south of the road running by the house of Albert Brush, the said Albert Brush living on said farm at the time this being made. 4th. to my sons Horton L Brush and Marion S Brush i give and bequeath all of my personal property excepting my household goods which will be described farther and the said Horton L. Brush and Marion S. Brush are to pay all debts contracted by albert Brush and wife Lydia during the sickness, including their burial and Marble expenses also all doctor bills, but in case the personal property does not amount enough to pay said expenses, said Marion S Brush is to pay the balance. 5th. To my wife Lydia Brush I leave the distribution of all the household effects but in case three is no distribution of said household effects my sons Horton L Brush and Marion S Brush shall dispose of them as stated in 4th clause. 6th. To my wife Lydida Brush I give and bequest the use of said property here fore spoken of, and provided for during her life and that she shall have full control of the same until her death. 7th. I hereby constitute and appoint as Trustees and Administrators of this my last will and testament my wife Lydai Brush and my son Horton L Brush. in witness whereof I have herewith set my hand and seal this the twelfth day of August in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Ninety three. Albert Brush. _________________________________________ In the name of God Amen I Harmon M Brush of the city of Washington D.C being of sound mind and memory and in view of the uncertainty of this life do hereby make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows. First. Tom my son Clifford S Brush I give and bequest the sum of Five hundred Dollars (500.) Second. I give and bequeath to my administrators hereinafter mentioned the sum of five hundred dollars (500.) the same to be held in truss by them for the support of my son William M Brush and to be paid by them in such sums at a time as the may deem proper for his own good. Third. I give an d bequeathe to my administrators the sum of three Thousand Dollars (3000.) for the benefit o f my granddaughter Dorothy Virginia Nesbit the same to be held in trust by them for the education and support of my said granddaughter and to be paid for her in such sums and at such times as they may deem wised and just until she shall reach the age of twenty one years at which time whatever she remain of the above mentioned Three thousand Dollars shall be paid over to her I further direct that in case -------- she arrived at the age of 21 yr. then and in that case I direct that whatever may remain of the above mentioned dower shall be equally divided between my two sons Clifford S Brush, William M Brush and my wife Mary M Brush. The amount to William M. Brush to be held in trust for him according to provisions in section, second to this instrument and the amount to my wife Mary M Brush according to pervasions in section Four as hereinafter mentioned. . Fourth I give and bequest to my administrators all the balance of my personal estate after paying the above legacies and also a certain pieced of real estate containing twenty two acres which I now own in the town of Pultney Steuben co. NY the same to be held in trust by them for the support of my wife Mary M Brush. I further direct that the sum of 20 dollars only be paid to her each month so long as said dower to her shall last. I also direct that as soon as possible the administrators shall sell my real estate above mentioned in the town of Pultney NY and the proceeds to be a part of the above dower to my wife. Fifth I direct that a benefit certificate which I hold i n the United Order of the Golden cross with headquarters at Knoxville, Tennessee for Three thousand dollars which is made payable to Joseph S Horton of Buffalo NY. as trustee be paid over by him to my administrators as a part of my estate. Sixth. I direct that as soon as practicabl[sic] my administrators take my above mentioned grand daughter from the custody and care of her Grandmother Mary M Brush and place her in some family or school where she can be properly educated and instructed. Seventh. I hereby make constitute and appoint as administrator of this my last will and testament my son clifford S Brush and P H Bristow who in now Superinted [sic] of Calvary Baptist Sunday School in Washington D C. Brush during her life, and as soon as convenient, after the death of my wife, I direct that the said sum of Fifteen Hundred dollars be paid over to my before mentioned niece, Lena Baker and my brother Marion S Brush. All the carpet, stand, two chests, and the bed as it stands in the sitting room, the chairs and my black coat, satchel, two dresses, cow, table cloths, black crape milk pans and strainer all the tin ware in cluded. Burton/Barton deceased late of the said town of Prattsburgh and county of Steuben. have chosen and requested that said Elam Bridges be appointed guardian and that letters of guardianship be accordingly be judged. Sales give unto my sons William K, Israel S, Galutia and Comadore Perry and my daughters Polly, Esther, Amy, Melinda all and singular my real estate to be divided as follows that is to say each of the sons to have twice as much as each daughter. I also devise that if my natural daughter Eliza Blazer should die before she comes of full age the money given to her as above together, to go to my sons Peter Blazer and Henry Blazer to be shared by them equally. I also give unto my son Jesse land a deed of Fifty acres of land being to the south half of Lot No 23 in the town of Troupsburgh. I also give unto my son Jesse David one yoke ___ being both reddish white faced and two heifer colors brownish white faced and one reddish white faces, also three sheep two ewes and one mother. I do also give unto my son James Davis a deed of one hundred acres of land laying in the town of Troupsburgh said lot No 2 in the twelve hundred mentioned land. I also give unto my son James Davis one yoke of the calves and two yearling heifers the two best ones and the sheet two ewes Dan one other. I also give to my daughter Lydia David a deed of fifty acres of land lying in the town of Troupsburgh being the north fifty acres of lot No 25 also two brown heifers two year old and three sheep: I also give unto my son Isiah Satterlee David Fifty acres of land laying in the town of Troupsburgh and being that on which my now dwelling house, barn, crib and orchard are upon and the articles of the same twenty second day of September 1816 signed Agila Giles by his attorney Daguld? I give to my son Joseph Saston. fifty dollars in property in one year from my death. to my two daughters Hannah and Betsey Saston fifty dollars each. NY I give to my daughter Polly Teeple and her heirs fifty acres of Land on the farm that I now live on. fifteen acres of land on the north side of the farm that I now live. Also fifteen acres of woodland of one twenty five acres of woodland down in the said town of Wayne. Also I will to my son George W Teeple his heirs fifteen acres of land along the lot line of his farm and twenty five acres of woodland. To my son Jared Tepple equal privileges during the natural life of my wife Susanna Teeple. Son George W Teeple was mentioned as well as daughter Polly to get the same as her sister Margaret when she was married. they are all to share in the fruits of the orchards.
