GRIMES.
The Will listed below is Ida's Grandmother, Nancy
GATEWOOD. I have
this in my possession if anyone wants a scan of
it.

All funeral expenses and debts are to be paid.
Ann Gatewood, deceased daughter, was wife of Col.
Ed. Fort. Their son, Whitman, receives $500.00;
their son George W. gets $100.00 and the note for
$350.00 which I paid for him at Logan County
National Bank in Russellville. Residue of estate,
real and personal, goes to son Jesse Gatewood and
daughter, Frances Grimes, to be
equally divided. Jesse's part is to be held in
trust by sister Francis. If Jesse dies, bulk to
go to sister Francis Grimes. If Jesse survives
her, then at his death the bulk is to be divided
between Francis' children.

Her favorite thing in life was a smoking a Tobacco Pipe
with Cherry Leaves.
James L GRIMES was a tall
red headed Irishman, with a Temper so I'm told. They had
big place (Plantation) and had many slaves, very
productive people. Well known in the area. (KY-TN)
