ALEXANDER CRIST

Alexander Crist, a farmer and boot and shoe maker, Pharisburg, was born in Hocking County, Ohio, June 18, 1838. He is a son of Henry and Marion (Hollister) Crist, natives of New York, who emigrated to Ohio in 1833 or 1834. Our subject was married December 6, 1866, to Elma Armstrong, a daughter of John and Emily (Henry) Armstrong. She was born March 29, 1839, and by her Mr. Crist has had five children, four boys and one girl. Mr. Crist enlisted in the late war on September 1, 1861, and was discharged by reason of disability September 16, 1862. His leg was amputated below the knee by Dr. Haven, on June 26, 1882, and he receives a pension from the Government on that account. He is a member of Marysville Lodge, No. 87, I. O. O. F.
