ASA KILBURY

Asa Kilbury, a farmer, is a son of Richard and Obediana (Baldwin) Kilbury, natives of Vermont, who came to this county in 1814.  He (Richard) was a son of John Kilbury, a native of England, who served seven years in the British Navy.  He was set at liberty on the American shore, and settled in the above State, where he died.  Richard settled in Darby Township, Madison County, Ohio, where he lived many years.  He died at the age of ninety years (nearly).  He was a smith by trade.  Our subject was born June 24, 1806.  He was married March 18, 1832, to Ruth Clark, who bore him nine children, of whom five are living, viz.: James, Robert, Mortimer, Dunbar and Solomon.  Mr. K. settled on his present estate, which consists of 192 acres, in 1863.  He is one of the intelligent and enterprising citizens of the county, and in every respect a progressive man.  He is an exemplary member of the Christian Church and a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
