J. C. McCLOUD

    J. C. McCloud, a farmer, was born in Delaware County, Ohio, in 1829, and is a son of Thomas and Lovina (Cummings) McCloud; the former a native of New Hampshire, and the latter of Maryland.  His father, with Benjamin Tinkham, were among the early pioneers of Union County.  Thomas and wife subsequently removed to Delaware County, Ohio, where they both died.  The subject of this sketch was married in 1862, to Melissa, youngest living daughter of Benjamin Tinkham.  One child, Tina, the only living of this union.  Mr. McCloud served the 100-days' call during the rebellion in Company K, One Hundred and Sixth Ohio National Guard, and has always made farming his profession.  His home is the original farm selected by Benjamin Tinkham, where he passed the years of his life.  Mr. and Mrs. McCloud are members of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and are descendants of Union County's oldest and respected pioneers.
