J. EDELMAN

<>    J. Edelman, a farmer, was born in Niagara County, N. Y., January 16, 1830; his parents were George and Elizabeth (Gaumer) Edelman, natives of Pennsylvania, of German descent.  They came to Ohio in 1835, and settled in Wood County, where our subject was raised and educated. He chose the occupation of a farmer, and followed it during the most of his life.  In 1865, he married Anna Fowler, a native of Wood County, Ohio, by whom he had four children, viz., Florence A., Harry B., Willie J. and Katie.  Mrs. Edelman was a consistent member of the Presbyterian Church, and died in 1872.  In 1874, Mr. Edelman married Sarah Gast, a native of Pennsylvania, of German descent.  Mr. and Mrs. Edelman are members of the Presbyterian Church, and he is a Trustee of the church at Richwood.  He is a member of Phoenix Lodge, No. 123, F. & A. M., a Democrat in politics, and since 1874, Superintendent of gravel roads.  He served as Trustee of Perrysburg Township, Wood Co., and has also been Trustee of Claibourne Township.  He owns twenty-two acres of land adjoining Richwood.
