JOHN S. HAMILTON
John S. Hamilton, a farmer, P. O. Richwood, was born in Marysville,
Ohio, March 29, 1854, and is a son of Cornelius and Louise (Bisant)
Hamilton, natives of Ohio. His father was a prominent lawyer of
Marysville, a member of the Constitutional Convention that framed the
present constitution of our State, and afterward a member of the Ohio
Legislature. He also represented this district in the Fortieth
Congress of the United States. He raised a family of six
children, three boys and three girls. Our subject, who was the
fourth child, received his education at Richwood, and has made farming
the occupation of his life. He owns a nice farm near Richwood, on
which he resides. He was married, in 1876, to Ellen E. Sidle, who
was born in Claibourne Township February 11, 1856; she is a daughter of
John Sidle. By this union two children were born, viz., Vinnie B.
and Ollie. Mrs. Hamilton is a member of the Methodist Protestant
Church. Mr. Hamilton is a Republican in politics.
