Union County, Ohio Biographies Project - John W. Adams
JOHN W. ADAMS
Our subject, John W. Adams
came of New England stock, but was born in Madison County, Ohio, where
his father, Charles H., who was a native of Connecticut, settled when
that county was a wilderness, and lived to the close of his life.
John W. subsequently moved and settled on the farm now occupied by
Warren Harris in Darby Township, Union County, where he resided until
his death. His wife, Miss Etha Delp, to whom he was married in
this county, was a native of Germany, and a daughter of George H. Delp,
of a pioneer family of Union County. Of the six children born to
this union, live are living as follows: Charles H., who married Mary
Harris, of this county; Albert married Sarah J. Harris, of this county;
David, Edward and William. The two latter at home, and David, at
this time, July 1882, is largely engaged in banking business at O'Neil
City, Neb., where he has been associated the past two years. The
present generation of the Adams family represent the descendants of one
of the oldest and respected pioneer connections of Madison and Union
Counties.
