LEVI KEERAN
Levi Keeran, a farmer near Marysville, Ohio, was born in Culpeper
County, Va., June 28, 1829. He is a son of Samuel and Sarah (Lilly)
Keeran, natives of Virginia. He early adopted the pursuits of a farmer,
end has since devoted bin life to farming and stock-raising, being
particularly interested in the raising of sheep, of which he now has
nearly 200 head on his farm. In August 1864, he became the
Superintendent of the County Infirmary, in which capacity he served
until March 7, 1871, sod again from 1877 to 1879. He took charge of the
Institution when there were but eight inmates, and left it with an
enrollment of forty. He now owns fifty acres of land in Taylor
Township, and fifty-eight sacs in, this township, on which he resides,
giving the whole of his attention to, his form operations. He was
married in September, 1855, to Carolina, Olds, daughter of C. J. and
Mary (Morse) Olds, the former a native of New York State, of English
descent, and the latter a native of Grandisland, of French descent; by
this union twelve children were born, viz.: William, Wallace, Henry L.,
deceased, Mary E., deceased Eva C., Albert C., George D., Eli M.,
Walter M., deceased, Arthur, deemed, Robert O., Lewis M., decreased,
and Lucy P. Mr. and Mrs. Keeran are members of the M. E. Church. He was
a Democrat in polities, until the time of Buchanan, when he severed his
connection with that party. He acted as Township Trustee for two terms,
and as a school Director for many years.
