MATLOCK STOKES
Matlock Stokes, a native of Virginia,
emigrated to Ohio and settled in Logan County at an early day, where he
married Rebecca Snuffin, and about 1828-30, settled in the west part of
this county, in Allen Township. Here he resided only a few years,
and removed to West Liberty, Ohio, where he and his wife both died. Of
their children, Matilda died young, and Wesley resides, in Logan County.
