Union County, Ohio Biographies Project - Simeon Adams
SIMEON ADAMS
Simeon Adams, a farmer, was born in Pennsylvania February 24,
1821. He is a son of Hazard and Elizabeth (Wort) Adams, the
former a native of Connecticut, of English descent. and the later a
native of Pennsylvania, of Dutch descent. Our subject was raised
and educated as a farmer, and has followed farming through life.
He came to Union County in 1841, and located on a farm of 150 acres,
which he improved and which he still occupies. He was married, in
1850, to Elizabeth Schechter, who was born in Maryland March 28,1828;
she is a daughter of Samuel and Margaret (Bond) Schechter. By
this union five children were born, viz.: Margaret, deceased; Jennie
E,, wife of C. McCallister; Emma, deceased; Frank L. and Henry H.
Mrs. Adams is a member of the Methodist Protestant Church. Mr.
Adams is a Republican in politics, and has served as Trustee of his
township two terms.
