ROOSDOWN (or ROUSDON) is a small parish, formerly
extra-parochial, in the Axminster union, containing by the census of
1861, 13 inhabitants, and 200 acres; in the deanery of Honiton,
archdeaconry and diocese of Exeter, hundred of Axminster, East
Devonshire; 2 miles east from Axmouth, near the sea coast. The
rectory, in the incumbency of the Rev. T. Bradford Bartlett, M.A., is
valued at £35 per annum. The small church of St. Pancras has
long since fallen into decay. The farm is occupied by Alfred Symes.
