and The Norfolk Landmark, June 7, 1931 Three County High Schools Have Finals This Week With 58 Awarded Their Diplomas Commencement Sermons Will Be Delivered Today, Opening Programs Life will take on a new meaning, a greater dignity, added responsibility, for 58 students of Norfolk County this week, when that number graduate from the Cradock, Churchland and Deep Creek high Schools. Commencement exercises will begin today with baccalaureate sermons being preached this morning and tonight, the graduation program continuing through until Wednesday. Cradock will send forth the greatest numbers of seniors from its portals, the class numbering 21, while Churchland will be second with 20 students. Deep Creek's senior class will number 20. Commencement exercises will be held at Cradock and Deep Creek Tuesday night and at Churchland Wednesday night, the programs beginning at 8 o'clock. ............(Cradock) The valedictory address will be made by John McNaught, while Miss Phoebe Weaver will officiate as salutatorian. Members of the gradating class of Cradock High School are: E. Corson, Eleanor Powers, Lois Caperton, Eleanor Mixon, Phoebe Weaver, Nell Marsh, Elizabeth Lakes, Kathryne Cotten, Marguerite Ferrell, Inda Sellars, Emma Quinn, Audrey Houston, John McKnaught, Vernon Chapman, Lewis Nuckols, Henry Jacocks, Allen Makinson, Howard Gettier, Lewis Barnette, Arthur Molleen and Hugh Elder. |
