Although a Christopher Armstrong was a grandson of John Skyles Sr, according to John's 1827 will, the September 16 or 17, 1797 birthdate of this Christopher Armstrong, (1797-1835) suggests that his mother, John's daughter, had already died. Some researchers have thought Rebecca Skyles married James Armstrong. In 1808 (Miami Valley Genealogy Index and Armstrong Ancestry of the Jansen Daughters), Rebecca Stiles married James Armstrong - 11 years after this Christopher was born. The Butler Co OH 1830 census lists James, John, Rebecca, William, and (Morgan, pg 169) Christopher Armstrong. |
Stroup's "Butler County Ohio Cemetery Records", Vol XI, p 45 also lists a tombstone for Martha ARMSTRONG (1802-1831) - wife of Christopher - died 6 Aug 1831 at the age of 29 yrs. [and notes that Butler Marriages lists her marriage: Martha Johnson to Christopher Armstrong 1 Nov 1821 - also see Miami Valley Gen Index]
Stroup's "Butler County Ohio Cemetery Records", Vol XI, p 45 also lists a tombstone for Euphenia J. ASHCRAFT (1866-1871) - daughter of B. and S. - died 14 Oct 1871 at the age of 5 yrs-7 mo-7 da.
