1) In the family Vertical File at the Cecil County Historical Society library, Elkton, MD, are documents that describe the will of a Joshua George, b. 1789, d. 1871, who married Margaret Crouch in 1815. Margaret's father's name was Nathan and her mother's name was given as Zephoro. This Joshua was the son of Edward and Julianna George. The will is dated 1 Nov 1778 and appears to be recorded in Liber B.B., No. 2, pages 59 & 60. The will indicates this Joshua lived in Middle Neck (Hundred?), Cecil County, Maryland. It mentions two sons - Sydney (Sidney) and Joshua, and two daughters - Alice and Mary. Tracts of land known as "Stranger", "Strange", "Salem", and "Dividend" (some apparently never patented) are mentioned as bequests to Joshua, Alice, & Mary.

Jeremiah Baker Chapter DAR, Univ. of Delaware library F187.C3 D23 1976, page 8, lists a marriage between Joshua George and Elizabeth B. Thompson on Dec 20 1786. The minister was named Wilmer.
