Walter "Reece" George, seventh child of Mary Jane and Reuben Andrew GEORGE and the twin of Wesley Reuben, was born on April 14, 1870, in Nodaway County Missouri at his parents' home in northwest MO.

Reece's brothers and sisters - the George aunts & uncles were:

* Louise "Alice" GEORGE FITCH (1855-1941)
* Charles Thomas GEORGE (1858-1938)
* William Handley GEORGE (1861-1945) lived in Custer Co MT
* Enoch Ezra GEORGE (1863-1868) lived in Andrew Co MO
* James Newton GEORGE (1865-1941) lived in Nodaway Co MO
* Margaret Ellen GEORGE MATTHEWS LEONARD (1867-1946)
* Walter "Reece" GEORGE (1870-1932) lived in Custer Co, MT
* Wesley Reuben GEORGE (1870-1870)
* Nancy "Pearl" GEORGE (1874-1964)

Martha Ellen McMasters, the daughter of ??, married Walter "Reece" George on 26 August, 1896 in Iowa.

Martha Ellen and Walter Reece GEORGE had 7 children:
Iva Pauline * Ina Vivian * Gladys Mae * Dora Bernice * Marian Alice * Jay McMasters * Walter Ray

Sometime before 1901, Reece's brother Will took his wife Ollie and daughter Beryl to Custer County Montana to try to heal Ollie of TB. But Ollie died 26 December 1901 and Beryl said that when Will took her body the 56 miles from Knowlton to Miles City, all the Knowlton relatives were sick with the grippe. So these Knowlton relatives may have been Reece's brothers Tom and Martha Dale and family, who had left Nodaway County Missouri for Montana sometime after 1905 (if Marian was born in MO), and/or Reece and Martha who also moved to Custer County MT (exact date unknown).

At the end of their lives, Reece and Martha were buried at Knowlton Cemetery, Custer Co, Montana.

Other GEORGE family members buried at Knowlton Cemetery, parents yet unknown:
Might be grandchildren of Tom (of Henry Hobson and Ethel, or Robert Thomas and Gylda)
or grandchildren of Reece (Jay M. or Walter R)

Legacy.com obituary for Leona Vivian Jackson Andrus, 1926 ~ 2012
Leona Vivian Jackson Andrus was born December 16,1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Henry Leon Jackson Jr. and Ina Vivian George. She was the only daughter in a family of six children. Richard Andrus, the love of her life, proposed to her on April Fool's Day and she accepted. The next day she became his wife and happily shared nearly 63 years together. Richard and Leona were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple, March 23,1955. Leona was a very loving and devoted mother to eight children. Her creative talent was beyond imagination. She could sew, knit or crochet anything you would like. As a member of the Daughter's of Utah Pioneers, she loved and enjoyed her membership and friends. Leona served as Captain of the Honey Bee Chapter for several years and was Co-Captain until her death. She also served 50 years in extraction translating old French and German genealogy records.

Leona is survived by her husband, daughters; Sandra Shepherd, Joan Mielke, Cath'e (Alan) Troyer, Martha (Craig) Huck, sons; Bruce (Debra), Russell (Deyonne), Brent (Donna), many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, daughter Diane Weyland, sons in law Terry Shepherd and Paul Mielke. A memorial service in Leona's honor will be held Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Western Hills Stake Center, 5380 W. 5400 So., Kearns

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all the aids, nurses, doctors and hospice that helped with Leona's care at Rocky Mountain Hunter Hollow Care Center, West Valley City, Utah.

If Marian Alice was indeed born in Missouri in 1905, the family's move to Montana may have been several years after Reece's brothers Will and Tom moved there. [Will was there by 1901 when his wife Ollie died there of TB.]
