Daniel's paternal grandfather, Daniel J. ROBERTS died in March, 1930. His paternal great-grandmother Mary GEORGE DeARMOND celebrated her 100th birthday party in 1930 when Daniel was 11. Mary (Aunt Pop) died the next year, not yet 101.

In October of 1934, Daniel's paternal grandmother Annaretta "Addie" DeARMOND ROBERTS died.

Daniel's parents retired from farming in 1948 and moved to Ross, OH.

In 1966 his mother M. Alda CONNETT ROBERTS died, followed by his father James D.'s death in 1969. See his obituary, below.

Of Ross, Dies
James Roberts, 86, 2634 Cincinnati-Brookville Road, Ross, died Thursday at 9:30am in Fort Hamilton Hospital.

He was born in Morgan Township, Feb. 19, 1883, a son of Daniel and Annaretta DeArmond Roberts.

He married Alda Roberts, April 24, 1918 in Cincinnati. The couple lived and farmed in Morgan Township until retiring in 1948 when they moved to Ross. He was a member of the Butler County Farm Bureau and the Venice Presbyterian Church.

He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Virginia McDuffy, Okeana; a son, Daniel Roberts, Hamilton; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Emogene Connett, Cincinnati and Mrs. Grace Bias, Sarasota, Fla.; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alda Roberts, in 1966, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Charles C. Young Funeral Home, Hamilton � Cleves Road, Ross, with the Rev. A. MacRoy, pastor of the Venice Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Venice cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 6 until 9pm.
