Philip William Otterbein

William Hanby, a bishop of the Church of the United Brethren in Christ, and Lewis Davis were co-founders of Otterbein College on April 26, 1847.

Leoti Duncan Longman (right) was the president of the Freshman Class at Otterbein University for the 1895-96 school year. (More pictures and her biography) Leoti's cousin, Maybelle Duncan George, had preceded her to Otterbein.

My husband's grandmother, Edna Adah Wells, was a freshman in 1903. She was a graduate, therefore, she would have been in the "Class of a 1907". She was a music major. Her home was Silver Lake, Indiana.

Gordon Jump died, September 22, 2003
Gordon Jump, OC class of 1955, was the recipient of the 1995 Alumni Special Acievement Award from Otterbein College, Westerville, Ohio. He is an actor, especially recognized as the lonely Maytag repairman and Mr. Carlson on the TV series WKRP in Cincinnati.
Chris Jansing, MSNBC anchor, graduated from Otterbein in 1978 and went on to report from Washington DC.
