Big Sky, MT (south central Montana, west of Yellowstone National Park)
Travelers looking for in season fishing and skiing come to Big Sky for dude and guest ranches, ski and mountain resorts, and other lodging options.

Guest and Dude Ranches:
320 Guest Ranch is a dude ranch one hour south of Bozeman. Pets are allowed, with a fee. They offer on-site fishing and hot tub. Come here for fly fishing, horseback riding, white water rafting, cross country skiing, down hill skiing, and horse run sledding. Yellowstone National Park is 30 minutes away. The 320 Steakhouse is the on-site restaurant.

Mountain Meadows Guest Ranch offers on-site skiing, cross scountry skiing, hot tub, and sauna, with free full breakfast. They are 17 miles from the Big Sky Ski Resort, and 18 miles from Yellowstone National Park.

Mountain and Ski Resorts:
Spend a week at the Lone Mountain Ranch with fly fishing, kids horseback riding, and shopping on-site. Golf, tennis, rock climbing, and lakes are nearby. Truck parking is available.

Rainbow Ranch Lodge offers free breakfast, and access to cross country skiing, snowmobiling, snowcoach tour, dog sledding, snow shoeing excursions, horseback riding, rafting, kayaking, and biking in season. The Big Sky Mountain Ski Area is 10 minutes, and within 15 minutes is Yellowstone National Park, fly fishing, wild life watching, and hiking. There is an on-site restaurant.

Where to stay in Big Sky or in Bozeman or in West Yellowstone

Glacier National Park, MT (northwestern Montana)

Lodging in the Glacier National Park is seasonal, May or June through September. The Glacier Park Lodge has a western theme at the southeastern edge of the park. Plan to take sightseeing tours and go horseback riding. There is a 9 hole golf course nearby. Lake McDonald Lodge is 10 miles inside the west entrance of the park. Many Glacier Hotel has a Swiss atmosphere and is located in the northeast part of the park. None of these lodges have TV's or air conditioning. Where else to stay

Lewis and Clark Trail:

Fort Benton, MT (northeast of Great Falls on the Missouri River)
Fort Benton has the Grand Union Hotel for staying near the historic Old Fort Benton. Plan to check out the wild and scenic Missouri River, go biking, canoing, floating, downhill skiing, fishing. Golfing nearby. Where to stay.

Little Big Horn Battle Field National Monument:
The Wald Ranch in Lodge Grass on the Crow Reservation is a Bed and Breakfast a few miles south of the monument. Book your reservation here for horseback riding, trailing cattle, checking cattle in the pastures, haying, harvesting, irrigating, and more. This is a family ranch in the scenic Big Horm Mountain foothills. Where to stay

Two other options are to stay 15 miles northwest of the monument area in Hardin, MT. The American Inn has a 140 foot water slide, playground, BBQ and picnic area, honeymoon suites and casino, and free long distance (in the USA). Area attractions include hunting, boating, spelunking, bird watching, rock collecting, scuba diving, museums, shops, and the Yellowtail Dam and Big Horn Lake and River. Also check out the Super 8 Motel in Hardin on 14th Street West. With horse corrals nearby, other activities center around the Custer Battlefield National Monument, Big Horn River trout fishing, Big Horn Canyon National recreation area. With the Crow Reservation nearby, Hardin is the location of the Crow Indian Fair. Where else to stay.

Miles City, MT (eastern Montana on I-94 and the Yellowstone River)

Stay along the beautiful Yellowstone River and near the Rosebud East Fishing Access by reserving your room in Miles City. Where to stay

Missoula, MT (western Montana on I-90)

Ruby's Inn and Convention Center offers you free full breakfasts, in-room coffee maker and data ports, and a creek-side quiet picnic area. A casino is next door, several restaurants are nearby, and complimentary airport shuttle service is available.. Where else to stay
