Family lived on the homestead in Montana at least between 1910 and 1917. They are in the 1910 census in Montana and the 1920 census in Indiana. Their youngest son Gene Alford Dusing was born in Montana in 1917. Per family the homestead had dirt floors and they experienced very hard times due to an extreme drought.
Homer Charles Dusing was one of the first trustees of Dawson County's first school district number 63. There was a school named after him and it is designated a Historical School. Believe the structure is gone but the site can still be visited
Family reports that Homer Charles taught 8th grade when they lived in Parma Missouri. Two of their children were born there Homer Denton 1901 and Mary Alice in 1902

Daniel W. Dusing passed away Tuesday, july 16 at 11:45 PM after a six month illness. He was 77 years of age. He was born on a farm north of Bunker hill, to Daniel and Mary jane (Johnson) Dusing and resided most of his lifetime in Miami County. he was married June 11, 1904 in Bunker Hill to mary Fanny Holcomb who preceded him in death. He was a retiered employee of Nickle Plate Railroad Company. And a member of the Redments Lodge of Miami. Survivors include two daughters and a son; Mrs. Everett Bolton of Bunker Hill, Mrs. Gordon Binkerdof, New Sante Fe, and Delbert Dusing of Fort Wayne, seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Internment at Springdale Cemetery, Bunker Hill, Miami County, Indiana. Services at Leon S. Allen Funeral Home in Bunker Hill. Officiating was Rev W.E. Clarke, Burnette, Indiania

Mrs Daniel C. Kline
Mrs. Maude E, Kline, 72, died at the Guildford nursing home on Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. She had been a patient there since January 11 and had been in ill health for the past year. The deceased was born on October 28, 1878, in Washington County, a daughter of the late Thomas S. and Elmyra Baker Dusing and had resided in that county until 1901 when she moved to Buena Vista Route 4 near Waynesboro, Pa. She was a member of the Rohrersville Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel C. Kline and the following children; Mrs John D. Geiser, Cleveland, Oh, Mrs Clemson Boyd, Baltimore, and Daniel I. Kline, Blue Ridge Summit; sister, Mrs. J. Emmert Shepley, Myersville, and brother, Stanley W. Dusing, Dixon, Ill; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock from the Grove funeral home, Waynesboro, Pa, Rev H.E. Krone officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday evening from seven till nine o'clock. Interment in Harbaugh Cemetery, Waynesboro. W. Y. Grove, funeral directors.

Stanley Dusing was one of thirty-four charter members of the
Improved Order of Red Men, Catoctin Tribe, No.139, of Wolfsville, MD instituted
June 2, 1902. It is a men's club like the Eagles or the Elks, Moose, Owls Club. There is a Redmen's Club in Frederick as Chippewa Tribe but there are no indians there -
maybe it came from the little boy's cowboys and indian days and you know many
men never grow up

Stanley Webster Dusing, 81, of Dixon, father of Donald T. Dusing , Mt. Morris,
Died Sunday, Nov. 22nd in KSB Hospital, Dixon following a short illness.
He was born March 9th, 1883 in Myersville, MD. He was united in marriage with the former Blanche Green and moved to IL in 1917 where he farmed in the Mt. Morris area for many years .
To this union were born four sons, Waynard and Eugene of Rockford, Marlow of Dixon, and Donald of Mt. Morris, all of whom survived, and a daughter, Mabel who preceded him in death. His wife died in 1937.
Mr. Dusing moved to Dixon in 1943 and in 1951 was united in marriage to Edna Wakenight. To this union a daughter, Margaret, was born who also survives.
Survivors include his widow, four sons, one daughter, 15 grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Emmert Shepley of Fredrick MD., also survives.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 24th at Chapel Hill in Dixon and internment was made at Mt. Zion cemetery near Oregon.

Mrs Stanley Dusing of Pine Creek Twp. passed away Sunda
y afternoon at her home following a long period of ill health.
Blanch Green was born in Fredrick Co., MD on Sept. 27th, 1885. Surviving besides her husband are four sons, Waynard, Marlow, Donald, and Eugene. And six brothers, a daughter Mable preceeded her in death.
Funeral sevices will be held Wednesday afternoon from the home at 2:00. Conducted by Rev. Reynold Hoover of Chicago, formally pastor of the Methodist Church of Mt. Morris, assisted by Rev. N. A. Bollinger christian minister of Mt. Morris. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery

Edna had lived with Stanley Dusing to help him care for the house and children.
One night awhile after Stanley's wife had passed away Stanley had asked Edna not to out on her date and stay with him instead. Soon after they were married and had my mother Margaret Dusing.
Edna's mother, Margaret (Maggie) Hill Wakenight, died in the flu epidemic of 1918. Ray was about 2, Edna about 4 . They then went to live with Annie Hill Slifer, Maggie's Sister. Lived there until Ray was about 9, when Annie died. They then went to live with 2 of her daughters, all married by then. Thier names were Martha ( Joseph) Slifer Franklin, Ellie (Clarence/ Shorty) Slifer McKim, Carrie (Clifford) Slifer Snyder, and Mabel (Martin) Slifer Schryver. Ray went to live with Clifford and Carrie Snyder, and Edna went to live with Clarence and Ellie McKim. Ray lived with the Snyder's until he was 11 years old, then went to live with Mable and Martin Schryver in the Dixon IL area. Edna stayed with the Mckim's until going to Chicago in her teens, then came back to live with the Snyder's. (Pauline Wakenight)

Died Friday, June 24th, 1994. She retired from the Dietary
Dept. of the Dixon Developmental Center after 17 years.
She was born on June 17th, 1914 in Oregon to Harry and Margaret L.
(Hill) Wakenight. She married Stanley Dusing in 1952 in Dixon.
He preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Margaret Strow of Dixon; one
Stepson Eugene Dusing of Rockford; one brother, Raymond (Pauline)
Wakenight of Galt; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren
And several step grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel Hill
Funeral home with the Rev. James Berry, pastor of the Four Square Church,
Officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Memorial Park. Visitation will
be held Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until time of the services at the funeral home.

Mrs. Arlepha Viola Sheepley, 95, died Sunday, Dec 12, at Meridian Nursing Center, Frederick. Born in Myersville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas S.and Elmira Baker Dusing Mrs. Sheepley's husband predeceased her in 1969.
Mrs Sheepley was a member of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Myersville. She was a member of the Senior Citizens of Myersville.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn R. Wilhide, Myersville and Helen E. Grimes, Frederick; one grandson, Meredith Grimes; two great-granddaughters, Laseille Grimes and Mechelle Brimes; and one great great -grandson, Bradley Grimes; two step -grandchildren Doris Dutrow and Paul N. Wilhide; and eight step-great grandchildren
The family will recieve friends at Ricketts Funeral Home, Myersville, from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec 14. Services will be help at 2 p.m. Wednesday Dec 15, at the funeral home. The Rev. H. Wilbur Jay will officiate. Interment will be at Mount Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Myersville.

J. Emmert Shepley, 86, of Frederick died Sunday at his home on East Church Street. Born in Myersville, son of the late John F. and Susan Grossnickle Shepley. He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Myersville. He is survived by his wife, Arletha Dusing Sheepley; two daughters, Mrs Evelyn R. Wilhide, Myersville and Mrs. Helen Grimes, Frederick; four grandchildren; two brothers, Clifford Shepley, Hagerstown and Edgar Shepley of Frederick.
Friends may call at the Biddle Funeral Home in Myersville until the time of the services Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Rev Monroe J. Shearer will officiate.

Mrs. Daisy A. Longbrake, 91, died Saturday, March 17th at her residence in Petersville after a long illness. Born in frederick County Oct 28, 1881, she was the daughter of the late George Daniel and Laura Dusing Schroyer. She was the widow of Frank Longbrake.
Surviving are three children, Mrs. Virginia L. Cramer. James F. Longbrake, both of Petersville, Mrs Sarah Chichirichi, Charles Town W.Va, two grandsons and thre great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the last residence after 10 a.m. Sunday, March 18. Funeral services will be conducted from the Eackles Funeral Chapel in harpers Ferry Monday, March 19 at 2:30 p.m. Internment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bolivar, W.Va.

KNOXVILLE - James Franklin Longbrake, 84, of 4004 Petersville Road, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at Frederick (Md.) Memorial Hospital.
Born April 6, 1920, in Brunswick, Md., he was the son of the late Harry Franklin and Daisy Schroyer Longbrake.
He was a 1938 graduate of Brunswick High School.
He was a retired clerk.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Lutheran Chapel, Petersville.
He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1582; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1136, and Steadman-Keenan American Legion Post 96, all of Brunswick.
He is survived by two sisters, Virginia L. Cramer of Knoxville, and Sarah Chicchirichi of Charles Town, W.Va., two nephews, one great-niece and one great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Ethel Grimes and one brother, Baughman Chew.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, Brunswick. The Rev. Carroll L. Boyer will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Lutheran Cemetery, Bolivar, W.Va.
Visitation will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Daisy next married Joseph Edward CHEW MAR 14, 1901.52 The marriage ended in divorce OCT 4, 1918. Joseph was born MAR 28, 1881 in Frederick, Frederick Co, MD, died JUL 30, 1959 in Petersville, Frederick Co., MD at age 78, and was buried in Knoxville Reformed Cemetery, Knoxville, Fredrick Co. MD.
General Notes: Joseph F. Chew, known countywide, particularly in Democratic circles, died Thursday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Virginia Cramer, of Petersville. He was aged 78 years and at the time of his death was employed at the Montevue home. Mr. Chew for a number of years served as a police officer. For some 20 years he served as chief of Brunswick police and more recently as a member of the Capitol Police in Washington. He retired from his latter job in January of 1953. Mr. Chew was born in this city and in 1901 moved to Brunswick. He call that town his home
A strong Democrat, Mr. Chew was a delegate to the Democratic National convention in Philadelphia in 1936. He ranked high in his memory of fact that he helped to nominate Franklin D. Roosevelt. Dating back to 1896, Mr. Chew often recalled, and can be remembered here, as meeting and talking for William Jennings Bryan when he was in this city. Some of his friends referred to the deceased as "the boy orator".
Mr. Chew served for 15 years on the Capitol police force. He said that through this work he came to meet many of the country's great men such as former President Harry Truman, Alben Barkley, the late Secretary of State John Foster Dulles and Justice Sherman Minton.
He was a member of the Brunswick Lodge 191 A.F. and A. Masons and the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Brunswick.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Holmes Chew, and two daughters: Mrs. Ethel Grimes, Charlestown, W.Va., and Mrs. Cramer, Petersville. He is also survived by one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home in Brunswick. The body will be taken to the Church of God, Knoxville, at 1 p.m. Sunday for services to be held at 2:30 o'clock. Interment will be in Reformed cemetery, Knoxville. C.H. Feete and Brother, funeral directors.

Mrs. Martin Kelly, Word has been received here of the death on Febuary 21 of Mrs. Sarah F. Kelly, wife of Martin L. Kelley, at her home in Spokane Wash. She was the daughter of Mrs. Laura Schroyer, of this city, and a sister Mrs. Daisy Longbrake and Grover Schroyer of Knoxville. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church of Spokane. General Notes: "Milo" Theodore Dusing was born on December 22, 1906 in Frederick County, near Wolfsville a son of Jacob Melvin and Hattie Edith Palmer Dusing and was the fusband of Donna Oneida Schroyer Dusing, Boonesboro Pike, Boonesboro who survives him.
He was a member of the Benevola United Methodist Church where he had served as the financial secretary for 35 years.
He had been employed by Hoffman Milling in Benevola for 44 years, until his retirement.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son-in-law, Arthur Lee Burkett and predeceased by a daughter, Julia Elizabeth Burkett on January 23, 1987 and one sister, Glady Virginia Adams on March 12, 1988.
Funeral held at the Bast Funeral Home, Boonesboro with the Rev.Patrick J. Malone officiating and internment made in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown by Bast funeral directors.
Milo married Donna Oneide SCHROYER. Donna was born OCT 24, 1907 and died APR 10, 1992 at age 84.
General Notes: Donna Oneida Schroyer was born on October 24, 1907 near Wolfsville and raised to maturity there a daughter of Lewis Calvin and Etta Elizabeth Palmer Schroyer and was the wife of Milo Theodore Dusing who predeceased her on April 22, 1991.
Donna was a member of the Benevila United Methodist Church.
Donna was the last surviving member of her immediate and direct families. She was predeceaded by her only child, a daughter, Julia Elizabeth Dusing Burkett and survived by son-in-law, Arthur Lee Burkett and a number of nieces and nephews.
She also was predeceased by four brothers, Oscar C., Lloyd S., Albert W. and Thomas T. Schroyer and two sisters, Carrie V. Schroyer --?-- and Dorthy E. Schroyer --?--.
Funeral was held at the Bast Funeral Home, Boonesboro with the Rev. John R. Thomas officiating with burial in the Resthaven Cemetery, Hagerstown by Bast funeral directors.

BOONSBORO – Mrs. Ruth Irene Faulders, 77, of Rt. 2, died at the Avalon Manor Nursing Home Saturday morning [May 29, 1976].
Born in Frederick County, Md., she was the daughter of the late John and Nellie Dusing Schroyer.
She was the widow of Jacob C. Faulders.
She was a member of the Mt. Lena United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three daughters,
Mrs. Robert Kroh of Middletown, Md.,
Mrs. Marie Wiles of Myersville, Md., and
Mrs. Agnes Barnes of Cumberland, Md.;
two sisters,
Mrs. Nannie Stine of Middletown and
Mrs. Eva DeLaughter of Williamsport;
five brothers,
Harvey Schroyer,
Ray Schroyer,
Willie Schroyer,
Paul Schroyer and
Stanley Schroyer all of Myersville;
nine grandchildren and
17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held from the Base Funeral Home in Boonsboro today at 2 p.m. The Rev. Martin Hauver will officiate.
Burial will be in the Mt. Lena Cemetery.

Jacob C. Faulders, Mt. Lena, died suddenly at his home Monday [March 16, 1953] at 5:15 a.m., of heart trouble, aged 59 years.
He was the son of the late Frisby and Inez Weddle Faulders.
He was a member of Mt. Lena E.U.B. Church, and was employed by the New York Central Iron Works.
He is survived by wife, Mrs. Ruth Faulders;
daughters,
Mrs. Harold Deal, Hagerstown;
Mrs. Richard Wiles, Middletown;
Miss Agnes Faulders, at home;
son, Donald Faulders, at home;
step daughter, Mrs. Helen Palmer, Washington, D.C.;
step son, Oscar Garnand, Smithsburg;
sister, Mrs. Oscar Houpt, Hagerstown, Route One;
and eight grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Thursday at Mt. Lena E.U.B. Church at 2 p.m., Rev. James Reese officiating, assisted by Rev. Donald Reese, with interment in Mt. Lena Cemetery.
The body may be viewed at the Bast Funeral Home until Thursday noon, and at the church from 1 to 2 p.m.

BOONSBORO – Donald Elwood Faulders, 48, of Ruble Rd., Boonsboro, died at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda Saturday [Nov. 10, 1973].
Born in Washington County, he was the son of Mrs. Ruth I. Schroyer Faulders of Hagerstown and the late Jacob C. Faulders.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Pleasant Walk, and was last employed by Wolfe Bros. Construction Co. of Myersville.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Vegina A. Morrison Faulders, and three sisters, Mrs. Inez Kroh of Middletown, Mrs. Marie Wiles of Myersville, and Mrs. Agnes Barnes of Cumberland.
Services will be held at the Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro Tuesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Marlin H. Lauder will officiate.
Burial will be in the Mt. Lena Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9.

Hilda Virginia Faulder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Faulder, Hagerstown, died at the Washington County Hospital on Sunday afternoon [Jan. 8, 1939] at 2 o'clock of complications, aged 5 years, 4 months and 15 days.
Surviving are parents, brothers and sisters, Junior, Harold, Donald, Inez, Marie and Agnes at home; half-sister Mrs. Milo Palmer, Myersville and half-brother, Oscar Gernand, Mt. Lena.
Funeral services this afternoon leaving the home at 1:30 o'clock with services at the U. B. Church, Mt. Lena conducted by Rev. Frank L. Stone and Rev. S. G. Sheriff, Myersville. Interment in cemetery adjoining.
