Mrs Joseph Steffa of Rockvale, aged 78 years, died Friday morning. The funeral was held Saturday at the Silver Creek Church. Mrs. Lewis Fouch of this city is the daughter of the deceased.

Hill---- Catherine Blough was born Jan. 7, 1845, died July 26,1893, aged 49 years, 6 months and 9 days.
She married Samuel Hill about thirty years ago. They have had seven children, John F. of Shannon, William W., Mrs. Mary Clara Wachtel, Mrs. Verna Viola Reasoner, Cora Ellen, and Maggie May. Harry T. has preceded his mother to the home of the soul. Sister Hill was a firm Christian, never forgetting the admonitions of her preacher father. She was a great hearted women and the sick of unfortunate were never neglected. She was an industrious woman and has lived a tireless active life. It was hard in her last sickness to believe the helpless human form lying on the bed was the strong industrious women of but yesterday. The funeral was held in the M. E. church, July 28, at 1 o'clock. The floral decorations were beautiful. Rev. Gardner, assisted by Rev. Hickman and Livengood conducted the services.

Margaret Hill was born near Sharpburg, MD., in 1837. In 1845 the family removed to Ogle County ILL. Here she was united in marriage to Solomon Steffa. After his death she was united in marriage to John C. Bowman at Mount Carroll, ILL., Sept. 15, 1863. In 1885 they moved to Grundy County, Iowa, and the following year came to Kossuth County, which has since been their home. She died at the home of her son J.W. Bowman, Dec. 20, 1912, after a painful illness. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, J.C. Bowman, Solomon Steffa of Lanark ILL, Frank Steffa of Sterling ILL, J.W. Bowman, W.J. Bowman, R.V. Bowman, and Mrs Jennie M. Allen all of Algona. The funeral services were held in the Baptist Church Tuesday morning at 10:30, and were conducted by Rev. Frank Day, pastor of the church.

John C. Bowman, on Friday of last week about noon, many friends were surprise to hear of the death of John Bowman, who has been well known in these parts for the last thirty years. At the time of his death, Mr. Bowman was 78 years of age. He was born in Northumberland Co. PA in 1841. He came to Algona about thirty years ago, and has been a resident of this locality since. About seven years ago his wife passed away and since that time he has made his home with his son Robert Bowman, in Algona.
On Saturday July 11th Mr. Bowman suffered from a severe hemorrhage of the brain which caused his death later. He is survived by four children, Josiah Bowman, William Bowman, and Mrs. Jennie Allan, and Robert Bowman all of whom reside in Algona. He has eleven grandchildren. Mrs. F. Moore, and Mrs. Polly Steinman are sisters of the deceased. Three brothers also survive, they being, George, of Sterling, Illinois, Adam of Texas and Will who resides in Algona.
Funeral services were conducted in the Baptist Church, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 and the remains were laid to rest in Riverview Cemetery, Algona, Iowa.
