Thomas CairnsPop-up Pedigree Marriage*: Principal=Nancy (?) Birth*: 1812 Death*: 18 May 1881, Summerside, Prince County, Prince Edward Island, Canada, Obituary: Sudden death. Our readers will regret to learn that Mr. Thomas Cairns of Summerside, who has been a resident of P.E.I. since 1833, died suddenly at his residence on Wed. the 16th May. Mr. Cairns, who was a man of 70 years of age, was busily engaged on his farm at St. Eleanor's during the day and drove home about 7 o'clock, talking in his usual happy mood on the way, and to all appearance seeming in good health. On arriving at his home he partook of tea, and in a short time complained of a pain in the head, and about fifteen minutes thereafter, before medical aid could be summoned, he expired. The cause of death is only a supposition (apoplexy), and it would be well that in cases of a similar nature in the future, the cause of death be fully enquired into. The Journal, May 26 1881.
