William and Norma came west to Macrorie to live, where Dorothy Cora Longwas born on the 12th of December, 1913. In 1917 they came further west after selling the business in Macrorie toVancouver, British Columbia, Canada. William Ralph Long was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on the 10th ofJanuary, 1917. In Vancouver, William Ennis Long was employed in several Men's Wear stores and in 1933with a partner, established their own business in Men's Wear, called Deemand Long. After a brief illness, William died in 1940. After his death,Norma Long sold the family home and bought a Revenue Home. This shesuccessfully carried on until she retired to an apartment, where she hasbeen living in good health for the past nine years (1979).
