Darrell:
Greetings, cousin. I found your web site fascinating. I was greatly surprised to find the Warner Graveyard info in such detail. I would appreciate your 270 page report. So far as I know I can receive an attachment of any length.
I can and will furnish a good bit of info about people in my father's generation and later. Will try to get it straightened out a bit before sending to you.
In 1987 I published a small booklet, "Too Many Jake Warners," which I will send to you if you will email me your mail address. You might find it amusing. As a result of that booklet I was sent some census reports of Bath County and that was the first time I had any real knowledge or interest in my ancestors. Shortly after that my wife and I visited Mrs. Dawson (can't recall her first name) and Jacob Warner Dawson but could get no info from them. Also visited Minnie Warner Smoot (?) who likewise would give no info. We came to the conclusion that a major split (probably scandalous) had occurred in the family and no one would talk about it. We also visited the Warner Graveyard and were amazed at the number of Jacob Warner stones.
As a kid I lived mostly with my grandparents on Bath Ave in Owingsville, a mile or so from the graveyard and about the same distance from the old house on Slate Creek, but I was never told anything about any other Warners in the area, and it was not until I read Adair Richard's history that I knew about them. Curious.

Good to hear from you.
You may do anything you wish with my booklet. However,it was printed before I, and Alice, did any investigation of our family therefore has serious mistakes. There is no doubt that your ancestor Jonas Warner is also my ancestor. My aunt, Lella Warner, sibling of my father, Jacob Warner, knew for a fact that Jonas Clayton Warner was her grandfather. My grandfather must have been wrong about his ancestors coming from Pennsylvania.
I might consider attending the Warner reunion if I knew when and where it was, though maybe I need an invitation. I send copies of my publications to Joan Pennington, Wallace's daughter, but have never received a notice of a reunion.
I throughly investigated your Warner web site and was delighted to find a picture of my grandfather, Jonas R. I even remember from my childhood the chair with the metal sign back that is in the picture.
Alice, as you probably know, is an ardent researcher. I wouldn't be surprised if she traced our family back to Columbus.
I am in good health and getting older than damn near anybody, much less the Warners.
Jake

I always assumed you have read the stories in subject book about the pioneer Jacob Warner but have never asked. Guy is unfamiliar with the book which caused me to wonder if you were also.
My wife and I are going to try to attend the reunion.

Hi Jake,
Yes I have read that book many times. The local genealogy library has a copy. They used to sell them at the Owingsville Outlook Newspaper office but I called a couple of weeks ago in order to get me a personal copy but they were out and didn't look like there was going to be another reprint anytime soon.
I am happy to hear that you might make the reunion. I am looking forward to sitting you down and talking about family history.
Take care,
Darrell

In the info I sent you it should say Raymond P. Warner not Ramond and his birthdate is 19 Sep 1918. I think I guessed 1920.

Also, looking at the close relatives to my family on your site--
additional information for Raymond Paul "Jack" Warner b. 1917. He was in
US Army Air Corps before it became the US Air Force. He died in Ohio, 5
Dec 2004 and was interred at Arlington National Cemetery 12 Jan 2004.
His grave overlooks the Pentagon-- I went to his burial although I never
did actually know him, and I've been back to see his stone several
times, and am going back again soon, to photograph it for my records.

Ran up on your site by accident. I am a direct descendant of Benjamin Whaley and Jane Vance. One son was Henry born 1806 and dies 1865 (8th Penn. Reserves). One of his sons was James C. Whaley (1835-1895), newspaper editor and Captain, Co. A. 6th Indiana Infantry. One of James C.'s sons was Walter Bowie (1873-1958) of Uniontown, Pa. One of his children was Col. Gerald Edward Whaley (1907-1956). Gerald was my father.
