Subject: Henderson descendants

Hi Darrell.
My name is Marlene (Thompson) Tackett. I am the granddaughter of Goldie
Henderson who married Claude Thompson, the ggranddaughter of Henry "Coon"
Henderson, who married Lula Hamilton. Beyond that I never new who my family
was, such as his parents, etc. My husband just found the info. that you have on the computer on the descendants of Jacob Warner and Robert Henderson. This is so exciting. I had been looking for some info. but really didn't know who to look for. I am so thankful that you put this on the computer and want to say "Thank You". Do you know where Oliver Perry Henderson is buried? I would like to visit his grave site. My father is the son of Goldie Henderson & Claude Thompson. His name is Lawrence Thompson. If you have any further info. that might be of interest, please let me know. I live in Rowan Co., just across the Carter/Rowan Co. line. Again; I am so happy to find this.

Hi Marlene,
Your letter strikes me funny. It was just the other day I was thinking about taking the Henderson part of my research off the net. After my Mom died earlier this year (she was a Henderson and my reason for doing the Henderson research) I have pretty much dropped the Henderson line of research. I have been pondering this for many days. I will be leaving my research on line for all to find because you have shown me it does help others. Thanks for saying thanks. I am going to include some information at the bottom and if there is anything you wish to add to the tree please send it my way and I will be most happy to add it in.

Thanks again,
Darrell

Darrell, I appreciate all the work you've put forth on the family genealogy. I am Marlene Thompson Tackett, daughter of Lawremce Thompson and Margie Harris (listed as unknown), grandaughter of Goldie Henderson and Claude Thompson. My mothers date of birth was 12-20-35 and date of death was 5-6-79. I had 1 brother(deceased) Phillip L. Thompson, DOB 10-1955, DOD-5-1956 . I have 3 sons: Darrel "Joe" Clark, DOB 1-17-69, Phillip G. Clark, DOB 6-8-71 ( from a previous marriage) and Jerrod A. Tackett, DOB 2-4-96. All were born in KY. Can you please add my mother, brother, and childrens names to the records? My mothers parents were: Ruby (Hamm) Harris and Archie Harris. My father -Lawrence Thompson- married Patty Hunt (2nd marriage) and has 3 sons and 1 daughter from this marriage. They are: Charles E., Micheal L., Robert A. Thompson and Teresa (Thompson) Oakley. Thank you so much for all your dedication. If I can be of further assistance, let me know.

Marlene (Thompson) Tackett

Subject: Re: Swim

Darrell,
I am not related to the Swim family. I was sorta searching for a link to a Heston Swim, who died in 1971, for my Online database because I don't have his parents or anything. While I was searching, I found your gedcom on Rootsweb. If you ever find anyting on a Heston Swim, 1903-1971, buried Highland Cemetery in Huntington, WV, I would appreciate if you could share the information. I know his wife and all the dates for both, but do not know his parents.
Also I have some documents on the Swims in your database and some you don't have yet. They are attached.
Back in 1989 a woman named Carrie Eldridge did a cemetery reading project for Cabell County. She used the WPA list to help compile her works and there is a page for the Johnson Cemetery. This cemetery was removed in the 1960's to make room for the Interstate that was under construction in our area. There were over 700 graves in this cemetery and most were removed to Dock's Creek in Wayne County. Even then, about 112 graves were unaccounted for and not included in those reinterred. Listed on the list of those buried in Johnson Cemetery and removed to Dock's Creek are the following:
Swim, Jerome
Swim, Jerrs (this is Jerry Myers Swim)
Swim, Maybell
Swim, Robert
Swim, Richard
Swim, Christina
Swim, Hawkins

Cabell County Cemeteries by Carrie Eldridge

From the death certificates I know that William Robert (the above Robert Swim) and Phillip S. are sons of Jerome and Christina. William married Jennie McGraw and Richard Ray and Jerry Myers (above) are their sons. Phillip S. is supposed to be buried in Johnson too, according to the death certificate, but his name did not appear on the list in Carrie's book.
Anyway, since you have some of these people I thought you might like this new information for you files. I haven't updated mine yet, but I am dignbones on the World Connect Project at Rootsweb. I hope to send up a new file tonight so take a look.

Candie
