Subject: Russell Pitts
I have seen on ancestry that you have Russell Pitts as the son of Sarah Eda (Edith) McGlone. How did the family come up with the unknown Pitts as Russell`s father. I am not doubting this, but just interested as this Russell is my grandfather, and he used the name of Stamper as his last name, because that was his mothers name. We did know he was an illegitimate child of Sarah as well as his sister Bessie, but according to our family he was a Frazier, and Aunt Bessie was a Scott. I can see in the census records that a Mr. Pitts was the grandfather of a Mr. Frazier, they lived in the same household, and both were of the age that were able to have produced a child. I believe the Mr. Pitts was an uncle by marriage to Sarah`s husband George Washington Stamper. The census record show them living very close to Sarah.
Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
