     Fred Vinson Staton, Sr., 77 husband of Patricia "Pat" Jarman Staton, passed away at 6:05pm Friday, January 25, 2008 at Central Baptist Hospital , Lexington. A native of Bath County, he was the son of the late Albert Clay Staton and the late Edna Hatton Staton. He was a retired prominet tobacco farmer. He was a member of the Nation Rifle Association, the Antique Machine Club where steam engine tractors were his favorite, a collector of steam whistles and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Paris, KY. Additional survivors include one daughter, Susan Staton Dillon of Lexington; two sons, Fred Vinson Staton, Jr. of Lexington and Eric Irvin Staton of Lexington; four grandchildren, Ashleigh Nicole Dillon of Lexington, Michael Wade Dillon of Lexington, Heather Lynn Williams of Cynthiana and Zachery Clay Staton of Mayo, FL.; one brother, Sterling Staton of Lexington; two sisters, Hildred Chugg of Winchester and Carolyn Tincher of IN; three Aunts, Eula Whitt of Winchester, Minnie King of Winchester and Lella Parker of Owingsville; two Uncles, John W. Hatton, Jr. of Winchester and Nathon Hatton of Winchester and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also preceeded in death by one brother Dallas Staton. Services will be conducted 1pm Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Scobee Funeral Home by Bishop James Denninghoff. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Nephews. Hororary pallbearers will be Jerry Huff, Paul Weber, Lange Somerville, Tim Somerville and Scott Somerville. Visitation will be 5-8pm Monday at Scobee Fneral Home.
