William Monroe Sharpe

     William Monroe Sharpe was born on 8 June 1867 at Iredell Co, North Carolina; Family Bible owned by Pam Wood Waugh, 1994. He was the son of William Paley Sharpe and Mary Ann Cloer. William Monroe Sharpe married Laura Jane Sipes on 19 March 1892.¹ William Monroe Sharpe died on 7 March 1955 at Davis Hospital, Statesville, Iredell Co, North Carolina, at age 87; The death certificate was found in Vol 41 page 123 (1955), Vital Statistics Iredell Co. A second source was the actual document on Ancestry.com.² He was buried on 9 March 1955 at Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery, Shiloh, Iredell Co, North Carolina; His gravestone indicates he died 8 March 1955, but his death certificate says 7 March.^2,3
     He appeared on the census of 1930 at Shiloh, Iredell Co, North Carolina.⁴ At the time of his death, William Monroe Sharpe had been in Davis Hospital in Statesville. Johnson Funeral Home made the arrangements for his burial at Bethel Methodist Church in Shiloh Town, Statesville. The informant was Jim Sharpe, Rt 6, Statesville.
