     Amy Almeda Wait was born on 24 November 1816 at Caldwell's Manor, (now Missisquoi Co), Quebec.1,2 She was the daughter of Briggs Wait and Mary Sheer/Shier. Amy Almeda Wait was baptized on 9 February 1817 at Caldwell's Manor, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.3 She married Daniel Tryon Jr., son of Daniel Tryon and Mary Ann Longeway, on 1 February 1837 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.4 Amy Almeda Wait died on 9 January 1918 at Methodist Church of Beebe Plain, Beebe, Stanstead Co, Quebec, at age 101; Stanstead Journal, 24 Jan 1918 - " Beebe: Mrs. Daniel Tryon passed away Wednesday evening, January 9th, in her 102nd year, her death occurring at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Moir, by whom she had been tenderly cared for the past year and a half. Mrs. Tryon had been confined to her bed for the past six years, but was conscious to the end and a great comfort to those who administered to her daily wants. The funeral service was held from her late residence Saturday afternoon. Rev. J.J. Hutchinson of Lyndonville, her former pastor and friend for many years, conducted the service, assisted by Rev. F. Williams of Beebe...She leaves to mourn her loss four daughters and three sons, Mrs. John Moir, Mrs Charles Monroe of Beebe' Mrs. J. Scott, Mrs. E. P. Davis and Mr. E. B. Tryon of North Derby; Mr. Stephen Tryon of Magog and Hiram Tryon of Fitch Bay besides grandchildren and great grandchildren."5 She was buried on 12 January 1918 at Marlington Cemetery, Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec.6,7,5
     On 24 Mar 1862, Amy Almedia Wait, wife of Daniel Tryon, and Matilda Jane Wait, wife of Briggs Tryon, presently of Stanstead regarding their inheritances from their "mother and step-mother, the said late Mary Sheer, the late wife of Mr. Briggs Wait, formerly of the parish of St Thomas, but now of Stanstead, now in the possesion of their brother, Enoch Wait. The land was the same parcel mentioned in other documents in IndianTown, amounting to roughly 230 arpents. The transfer of right was passed for 60 dollars "current money of this Province". The document was passed before C.A. Richardson. She appeared on the census of 1901 at Magog, Stanstead Co, Quebec; Almeda Tryon, 84, was enumerated with her son Stephen Tryon and his family. Her birthdate was given as 24 Nov 1816. She was also enumerated with Enoch Trion (sic) and his wife, Alice, her daughter for the same census but in Stanstead. Her birthdate was also given as 24 Nov 1816.8
