Mary Ann Longeway was born on 6 April 1791 at L'Acadie, St Jean Co, Quebec.1 She was baptized on 7 April 1791 at L'Acadie, St Jean Co, Quebec; Godparents were Marin Granger and Marie-Anne Lebland/Leblond, widow of Jean Barret.2 She was the daughter of Remie Longeway and Marie Geneviève Raimond. Mary Ann Longeway married Daniel Tryon, son of David Tryon and Elizabeth Lewis, before 1810. Mary Ann Longeway died on 1 May 1869 at Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec, at age 78; According to the Stanstead Journal dated 6 May 1869, Mary Ann (Longeway) Tryon along with her daughter Elizabeth both died in a house fire. Between ten and eleven o'clock on Saturday night [1 May 1869] "the house and shed of Mr. Walter Covey, of this township, situated not far from Ruiter's Corner, and known as the Bacheldor place, took fire...". It seems that both women had been staying with the Coveys for several weeks. "It is supposed that the fire had made so much progress before it was discovered that the women were probably smothered in their sleep before an alarm was given. The remains of the unfortunate women were buried to-day (Tuesday)". She was buried on 4 May 1869 at Ruiter's Cemetery, Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec.
As of 7 April 1791, Mary Ann Longeway was also known as Marie-Anne Bodineau.
