Florence H. Dean

     Florence H. Dean was born on 23 April 1881 at Leeds, Yorkshire, England.¹ She was the daughter of James Dean and Frances Shores Smith. Florence H. Dean married Thomas Ashworth, son of Robert Ashworth and Sarah Houlgrave, on 6 April 1905 at Lowell, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts; The marriage record reads that Thomas was a 29 year old weaver, living in Lowell when he married Florence, 23, who lived at home.² Florence H. Dean died on 18 October 1953 at Malden, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts, at age 72; Florence was residing at 461 Salem Street, Malden, Massachusetts and that was where her death occurred.³ She was buried on 21 October 1953 at Edson Cemetery, Lowell, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts.³
     Florence H. Dean was also known as Flossie Dean.⁴ Florence H. Dean was also known as Florie Dean.¹ For many years, Flossie was a trimmer of ladies' hats in one of the large department stores in Lowell, Massachusetts. When both she and her husband retired, they went to live with her sister, Bertha, and her brother, Arthur, where they had purchased a home in Malden, Massachusetts.⁴
