     Richard Tallman was born on 9 February 1849 at Quebec; The 1900 census shows he was born New York.1,2 He was the son of David Tallman and Aurilla Smith. Richard Tallman was baptized on 16 March 1858 at Wesleyan Methodist Church, Russelltown, Huntingdon Co, Quebec.3 He married Rosina Irish on 3 October 1870 at Wisconsin.1 Richard Tallman died on 7 April 1904 at Sioux Creek, Chetek, Barron Co, Wisconsin, at age 55;
     Richard Tallman came to Wisconsin at the age of 16. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church, and one of the leading members. He died at his home in Sioux Creek following pneumonia. He left a wife, eight children, three brothers and three sisters.1 He was buried on 12 April 1904 at Chetek Cemetery, Chetek, Barron Co, Wisconsin.4
     He appeared on the census of 30 June 1870 at Alma, Jackson Co, Wisconsin; Enumerated as Richard Tolman, 20, b. Canada; Rosina 18, born Vermont and a daughter "not named", 5 mos, born Wisconsin in January.5 He appeared on the census of 1880 at Otter Creek, Eau Claire Co, Wisconsin.6 He appeared on the census of 4 June 1900 at Dallas, Barron Co, Wisconsin; Richard Tallman, 50, Rosina, 48, Rosella, 18, Orin, 18, Artie, 16, Louisa (?), 13, Earl, 12, Myrtle, 9 and Cecil (?) [dau], 6. Richard was b. Canada, Rosina in Vermont and all children in Wisconsin. They had been married 30 years, had 8 children, with 7 still living.2
