Sylvester Scott Arrowsmith

     Sylvester Scott Arrowsmith was born on 31 October 1882 at Boston, Suffolk Co, Massachusetts.^1,2 He was the son of George Arrowsmith and Amanda Elizabeth Daley. Sylvester Scott Arrowsmith was born on 12 October 1886 at New Brunswick; b'date from 1901 census, Victoria Ward, Saint John. He married Ella Maud Beyea, daughter of William Richard Beyea and Ann Burgess, on 21 April 1908 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.³ Sylvester Scott Arrowsmith died on 2 March 1949 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick, at age 66; Sylvester Arrowsmith had been a spring maker for 40 years.⁴ He was buried on 22 April 1949 at Fernhill Cemetery, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.²
     The 1901 census for Victoria ward in Saint John shows that Sylvester was then living with his grandparents, Joseph Daley and Mary Hepburn at 159 Westmoreland Road in Saint John. For some reason he was listed as stepson and not grandson.
