Delayed Birth Register The Delayed Birth Register is a set of books which contain the birth records for various years, and are indexed by last initial, then sub-indexed by first initial, but not alphabetized. The books contain the name, date of birth, place of birth, names of parents (again, no maiden names), and the number of children born to those parents. The main purpose of these registers was to give proof of age to men going into the military, or to marry. In them, you will find mostly men of enlistment age, but there are also women listed. These books cannot be copied. They are transcribed and written on a very nice certificate and mailed to you. Please make sure to put "DELAYED BIRTH" in the subject line so our researchers know it is not SPAM.
