  General Notes:

James Bradbury Horrell purchased 79 acres of land from Griffith W. Barnhill near Black River on what was then considered New Hanover County, NC. It is now part of Pender County. There is an old family cemetery located in the area on land now known as Cone's Folly (now owned by Ben Cone). The cemetery is 1/2 mile from Beatty's Bridge near the River, across from Straw Horn Landing.

(Aunt Grace Barnhill Lockamy remembers seeing part of the old chimney still there when her family would go to Black River fishing. There were lillies blooming. This was in the 1940's/1950's.)
